Product of Tasmania provides the digital experience of walking through a market stall - stocked with Tassie's most iconic locally made products. The online store is growing daily, offering Tasmanian-made gift ideas with a vision to stock "something for everyone". Originally inspired by discussions with market stall operators throughout Tasmania, Product of Tasmania is a labour of love for Dan and Jess Satcliffe. Recognising the uniqueness and desirability of our locally made products, their dream is to get little pieces of Tassie's finest out to the rest of the world.

Product of Tasmania is a website developed and managed in Tasmania, where you can find unique gift ideas and quality products, all Tasmanian made. The online store provides a marketplace for creative Tasmanians to make their products available to the world next to well-known and established brands such as Fifth Estate Co., Bridestowe Lavender and more.

Product of Tasmania doesn't act as a third-party like Etsy or Shopify, it actually stocks all of the items listed, ready for immediate dispatch. It costs nothing for suppliers to stock and list their items on the site, the only requirements are that the items are produced in Tasmania, can be duplicated, and have branding and packaging all in place. Makers need to be confident that their products are "ready for that next step" online. But it's not all about individual products and brands! Product of Tasmania promotes Tasmania as an overarching theme in itself. They have a particular focus on materials that are intrinsically Tasmanian like Huon Pine, Myrtle and Lavender. They have recently become a partner of Brand Tasmania, with a forward strategy to feature Tasmanian landscapes with further partnerships and blogs. Tasmania is a remarkably unique and naturally spectacular island state, with a story to be told.

As Product of Tasmania's website continues to establish itself, the company is utilising Instagram and Facebook as important channels to suppliers. Currently their major target market is mainland Australia, with "flat-rate shipping" offered regardless of the order. The site is also shipping to Europe and the US, with plans to break into the highly sought-after Chinese market later this year.

Both business owners recognised and appreciate the input from DK Accounting & Advisory. "DK has really helped us set up the business side of things, getting us on track with company registration and tax compliance. Dave is a real supporter of the business and understands our vision, which makes working with him really fantastic".
